First synthesized in 1940, this product is not- psychoactive. So there is no feeling of being “high” associated with its use. CBD is diluted with carrier oils such as olive oil, hemp seed oil before being sold. This makes its use for smoking and inhaling difficult and hence takes care of any potential misuse.

This makes CBD oil an effective compound to treat heart-related disorders. It is gaining popularity in the medical community especially with regards to cancer treatment. It reduces the magnitude of pain endured by the patient during chemotherapy. It has been a success in the cosmetic industry due to its’ anti-acne properties. Medical research of these compounds’ effectiveness against neurological disorders is still widely debated. Preliminary tests have shown a marked reduction in multiple sclerosis and epilepsy.
