With increasing stress and lifestyle changes, men and women are seeing the increased risk of hormonal imbalance. Men are seeing more cases of erectile dysfunction due to various reasons. This is the reason, uses of hormonal supplements, and Viagra are seeing increased consumption to bring a positive difference in relationships and family lives. But, before you choose a self-assessed treatment lets reveal the secrets of more treatments that are helpful in treating the erectile dysfunction.

Oral phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) inhibitors are a great help in such cases which are recommended before more invasive treatments are considered. It is an enzyme that can interfere with the action of nitric oxide (NO) which helps open the blood vessels in the erectile organ to increase blood flow and produce an erection.

Three of the most widely used medications are:

  • Sildenafil (Viagra)
  • Tadalafil (Cialis)
  • Vardenafil (Levitra)

Vacuum constriction devices

Vacuum constriction devices are considered if, medications aren’t entirely successful. These devices are generally safe and effective. A cylinder is placed over the penis, and the vacuum is created inside the cylinder which leads to an erection. Then, a band is placed around the base of the penis to conserve the erection while the cylinder is removed. Later, the band is taken off after about nearly half an hour.

Though this is the last resort for men with Erectile Dysfunction it is effective in most cases. A penile prosthesis is implanted which is modeled to allow the penis to bend downward for urination and upward for intercourse.

There are more advanced implants which allow for fluid to fill the implant and form an erection. But, there are risks associated with this operation, and should only be considered if other strategies have failed.

But, before trying all such treatments lifestyle changes, and stress-relievers can help a lot to regain the erectile strength among men.
